A custom wooden heart box, made out of two native hardwoods: cherry and black walnut. It has a very organic, curvy shape, with the walnut wood flowing through the middle of the box in both the bottom and lid, perfectly matching up. This box is my original unique design that you will not see anywhere else!
This is the third heart box I’ve made out solid wood pieces, and I’ve done a few others with some epoxy. There are not a lot of them out there, and I’m not sure how many I’ll eventually make, as they take a while to produce.
The size is about 8″ from the bottom of the heart to the tip of the round parts. The width is about 8-1/4″ wide at the widest part, and about 2-3/4″ tall with the lid on. The box inside is about the size of a large cereal bowl.
The box has a very matte finish to emphasize the beauty of the wood.
I made this box in my small backyard workshop located in Truckee, California near Lake Tahoe.
